Continuing Education Accreditation and Research Policies
Continuing Education UnitsACNM's education program is designed for midwives by midwives. Choose from more than 100 quality sessions and receive continuing education units (CEUs). These CEU sessions will cover clinical issues, education, global midwifery, the business of midwifery, and the public perception of midwifery.
ACNM CEUs are accepted for the
American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) and the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing. Other professional groups may recognize ACNM CEUs as well; non- CNMs/CMs should check with their certifying and licensing agencies.
Attending the Annual Meeting is one of the best ways to learn about developments in midwifery and women's health and earn CEUs. Participants can earn as many as 30 hours of credit. Preregistration for education sessions is not required, and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Research PoliciesACNM and the Division of Research (DOR) have established a policy for the distribution of research surveys at the Annual Meeting and other ACNM functions. If you plan to collect data from ACNM members, please review the policy. Data collection activities that have not been approved in advance by the DOR are not permitted. The policy can be found at
